A Year of Growth, Reflection, and New Beginnings: My 2024 Journey
2024, what a year it has been. For those who follow my journey, you’ll know this year was pivotal—not just for my professional path, but also in my personal life. It’s been a year of great growth, reflection, and lessons. This year was about truly embracing change, stepping outside my comfort zone, and understanding what I want the future to hold. There’s a lot to unpack, so let’s dive in.
The Move to LA: Dream, Ambition, and New Beginnings
When I moved to Los Angeles, I knew it would be a life-changing step. But what I didn’t know was how much it would truly transform me. Like many of you, I arrived in this incredible city with excitement, dreams, and an overwhelming sense of possibility. The atmosphere here is palpable—there’s an energy you can feel everywhere you go, and it pushes you to do more, to be more.
But if I’m being honest, what I had when I landed in LA was pretty simple: big dreams, ambition, and a visa. That’s it. No job lined up, no security in sight, and certainly no guarantees that things would work out.
I had to get comfortable with the unknown and, for the first time, learn how to start from zero.
People ask me how I did it, how I built the foundation for my entrepreneurial journey here in the U.S. And my answer is always the same: persistence, a willingness to learn, and an incredible amount of grit. I’ve learned so much every single day, not just about the business landscape here, but about myself too. I had to trust that the pieces would fall into place as long as I kept moving forward, even when I didn’t have the answers.
Mexico City, Alejandra, and Finding Balance
One of the most unexpected, but beautiful, things to happen in 2024 was meeting Alejandra. She’s from Mexico City, and from the moment we met, there was this magnetic pull. Now, being with someone from a completely different culture is a challenge—it’s a learning curve. At the same time, it’s an incredible gift. Alejandra, in so many ways, has brought out parts of me I didn’t even know existed.
The combination of living between Los Angeles and Mexico City has given me a rare perspective. I love the buzz and energy of LA—where dreams are born and opportunities seem endless. But I also found something special in Mexico City that I hadn’t anticipated. The pace is different, slower in a sense, and the culture is rich in traditions that connect you to a deep sense of family and community.
Adapting to this duality wasn’t always easy. I found myself having to balance my time, energy, and focus between two places, both so different, and yet both feel like home in their own way. Mexico City, especially, opened my eyes to a calmer pace that often felt like a counterbalance to the hustle of LA.
Honestly, I’ve fallen in love with both cities, but there’s something about CDMX that feels particularly comforting—maybe it’s the food, or the way people are so deeply connected to their roots, or maybe it’s the slower, more intentional approach to life. In a way, Mexico City reminded me that I don’t have to always be chasing something—sometimes, I just need to appreciate the moment.
This slower pace has been a beautiful change from LA’s hustle-and-bustle, and it’s had a huge influence on how I approach both my work and life. Balancing two cultures, perspectives, and ways of life has truly made me a better, more rounded person.
Taking My Time to Understand What’s Next
I have this tendency to want to jump straight into the next big thing—building, creating, making progress. But 2024 made me slow down and take stock of where I am, what I truly want, and what aligns with the vision I have for my future. This year, I made the conscious decision to take a step back in my entrepreneurial journey. I wanted to give myself the time and space to evaluate my next steps in the U.S., not just rush into something for the sake of being busy.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned this year is that it’s okay to not have everything figured out right away. There’s a lot of external pressure to move fast, to make things happen now, and to keep the momentum going at all costs. But the truth is, that’s how mistakes are made and opportunities are missed.
Instead, I spent 2024 reflecting on what my next venture should look like. This included deeply understanding the things that excite me and focusing on projects that are sustainable, meaningful, and aligned with my values. I tested new ideas, refined old ones, and spent a lot of time considering how I could combine my passions with business success.
For me, this year wasn’t about waiting for things to come together passively—it was about thoughtfully piecing things together at my own pace. Taking time to understand myself and what I need from my next move was far more productive than rushing into something I wasn’t fully aligned with.
In fact, I can tell you, the more I took time to reflect, learn, and test my ideas, the clearer the picture became for what the future holds. It wasn’t about just doing more, it was about being intentional with my energy and focus, which has led me to a place where I feel more prepared than ever for what comes next.
Looking Ahead: A New Year and A New Commitment
Now, here I am, at the end of 2024. Looking ahead to 2025, I feel a sense of readiness and excitement that I didn’t feel when the year started.
My plan is simple: 2025 will be about going all-in on my next venture. This year was about testing ideas, understanding what works, and clarifying my intentions. The next year will be about diving headfirst into action.
I feel more focused than ever on what I want to build next. I know where I want to direct my energy, and I’m committed to putting all my resources into this next phase of growth. This is the time to turn my plans into reality, not just ponder and reflect, but act.
Reflecting on 2024, it has truly been a year of preparation, foundation, and growth. 2025 is the year to act, and I’m fully ready to go after my goals with the same passion and energy that brought me to the U.S. in the first place.
My Key Lessons from 2024:
- Growth takes time. Sometimes you have to slow down to move forward.
- Balance is essential. Whether it’s work, culture, or relationships, the mix of different elements adds richness and depth.
- Reflection and testing are powerful. Just because you’re not in constant motion doesn’t mean you’re not progressing. Often, the best way to progress is to pause, reflect, and get aligned with what you truly want.
- Persistence pays off. Even when it feels like you’re starting over, or you’re stuck in a holding pattern, keep moving forward. Progress might not always be visible right away, but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful for everything 2024 has taught me. It’s been a year full of lessons, adventures, and even moments of uncertainty that led to beautiful realizations.
As we head into 2025, I encourage you to take time to reflect on your own journey—how far have you come? What lessons have you learned? And more importantly, what are you ready to go after next?
Here’s to the next chapter, to bigger challenges, and bigger wins. I hope you had an amazing 2024 too, and if you haven’t taken a moment to reflect on the year that’s passed, I encourage you to do so now.
Whether you’re just starting your journey or have been on it for years, this moment is yours to shape and create. So, let’s make 2025 the year where we take everything we’ve learned and build it into something spectacular!
Merry Christmas / Glædelig Jul to you all, and here’s to an incredible 2025!
