I Moved to the U.S. Without a Job Offer—Here’s How I Made It Work

ByKristoffer December 8, 2024May 9, 2025

When I made the decision to move to the United States, I didn’t have a traditionel job offer, a super clear business plan, or even a specific idea of what exactly I wanted to create. I was hired by my own company but what to do and how to make money was a question mark….

Hi, I’m Kristoffer! I’m a serial entrepreneur from Denmark, now living in sunny Los Angeles. Over the past decade, I’ve built and scaled businesses, mostly companies in the sexual wellness space.

I’ve been fortunate to have my work featured in the media over 100 times, with one of my standout moments being my appearance on Shark Tank, where I successfully secured an investment for one of my businesses.

On this blog, I write about what interests me — my passion for the USA, entrepreneurship, my journey of moving here and trying to make it, as well as the challenges I’ve faced with visas and the startup world. Thanks for stopping by, and I’m excited to share my journey with you!

A year ago I started making YouTube videos about s A year ago I started making YouTube videos about something I wish someone had explained to me clearly when I was going through it: how to actually build a business in the US as a non-resident.

I moved here from Denmark without any guarantee it would work out — no roadmap, just a lot of figuring things out the hard way. Visas, LLCs, opening a US bank account without an SSN, understanding what actually costs what. A lot of trial and error, a lot of confusing advice from people who'd never actually done it themselves.

For most of the past year, it felt like I was making videos nobody was watching.

Lately, that's started to shift. People are finding the channel, asking real questions, making commissions, telling me it helped them avoid a mistake or figure out a next step. That's honestly been the most rewarding part and a good reminder that hard work always pays off!

If you're building something in the US as an outsider, or just curious what that path actually looks like, I'd love for you to check out what I've been putting together. also link in bio. youtube.com/@KrisTheEntrepreneur

Honestly just a quick update 🤲 Over the last y Honestly just a quick update 🤲

Over the last year I’ve been putting a lot of work into building a YouTube channel. More than 100+ Videos + a LOT of Shorts.

Mostly talking about:
– building a business in the U.S.
– how to move to the U.S.
– Sidehustles
- Personal Finance

And to be real — it hasn’t been easy.

Educational content is a different game.
You don’t just show up.
You research.
You refine.
You film.
You scrap videos.
You start over.

Some videos flop.
Some do better.
You keep going anyway.

It’s kind of funny because the world feels chaotic right now and a lot of people talk about leaving the U.S.

But from an entrepreneurial perspective?

I still think it’s one of the best places on earth to build something big.

So I’m staying consistent. Learning. Fighting!

If you’re curious what I’ve been building behind the scenes, the channel’s in my bio.

Hope you will check it out! 🔥
