From starting my first business in high school to pitching on Shark Tank, it’s been an incredible journey filled with risks, lessons, and countless cups of coffee.
High School Beginnings: Magentoxperten
Let’s rewind to 2008. I was just 18 years old, still in high school, when I launched Magentoxperten, my very first business. What started as a small project quickly turned into one of the leading eCommerce agencies in Scandinavia.
For 10 years, I had the privilege of helping businesses of all sizes establish and grow their online presence. But I wasn’t just working with clients—I was experimenting too. During those early years, I launched several eCommerce ventures of my own, diving into industries like cosmetics, fashion, and even selling longboards. Each project taught me something new, from understanding customer needs to mastering the art of digital marketing.
A Unique Opportunity: How I Entered the Sexual Wellness Industry
During my time running Magentoxperten, an unexpected opportunity came my way. One of my clients, a sex shop, loved the eCommerce platform I built for them so much that they offered me a 33% stake in the company. My role was to run their online operations, including marketing, platform development, and scaling their digital presence.
For two years, I immersed myself in the industry, learning the ins and outs of sexual wellness. Eventually, I decided it was time to take the next step. I sold my shares in the company and launched my own shop, WinkWink, with a vision of making the space more modern, inclusive, and approachable.
WinkWink: Redefining Sexual Wellness
In 2013, I founded WinkWink, my first independent step into the sexual wellness space. My mission was simple: create a brand that people could connect with—something fresh, approachable, and free from outdated stigmas.
WinkWink was more than just a business for me. It was a chance to make a real impact, helping people explore and embrace intimacy in a way that felt empowering.
LAMOURBOX: From Subscription Success to Shark Tank
By 2017, I was ready for something new. That’s when I launched LAMOURBOX, a subscription service delivering curated intimacy products designed to bring couples closer together.
LAMOURBOX wasn’t just about selling products; it was about creating meaningful experiences and fostering a sense of community. By 2018, the business had grown so much that we were featured on Shark Tank (Dragons’ Den in some countries). Pitching the business on live television was surreal, challenging, and one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
Fast forward to 2024, and LAMOURBOX is evolving once again. I’ve transformed it into a content-based platform, focusing on guides, reviews, and tips to help people navigate intimacy with confidence. This new direction feels like the great next chapter for LAMOURBOX. The sexual wellness have been slow the last 2 years and it was time to pivot the concept.
Los Angeles: My Current Chapter
If there’s one thing I’ve learned as an entrepreneur, it’s that life rarely goes as planned—and that’s okay. After years of building businesses, I’m in a phase where I’m taking a step back to focus on this blog and my work with LAMOURBOX.
This blog is my creative outlet. It’s where I reflect on the journey so far, share what I’ve learned, and connect with others who are navigating their own paths. While I don’t have my next big venture fully figured out yet, I’m enjoying the process of exploration and discovery.
What Keeps Me Going
Behind the businesses, blog posts, and brainstorming sessions, there’s a lot that fuels my drive:
- Travel: I’ve visited 55 countries so far, and my ultimate goal is to visit every single one. It’s a lofty dream, and I’ve got a long way to go, but travel has always been a source of inspiration and perspective for me.
- Cars and Adventures: Whether it’s cruising through Europe in my old BMW Z4 convertible or dreaming up my next road trip, I love the freedom and adventure that comes with hitting the open road.
- Personal Growth: Every new challenge—whether it’s starting a business, navigating a transition, or figuring out my next move—teaches me something new about myself.
